Swiss Films
Valentina is a Swiss-Italian cinematographer based in Lausanne, Switzerland.
She began her journey with a photography apprenticeship, where she first explored image composition. Her curiosity for moving images later led her to study cinematography in film school.
Since 2015, she has been working on set, mainly on short films and documentaries within the independent cinema scene. In 2023, her first feature film L’Amour du monde was selected in competition at the Berlinale, where it received a Special Mention, and it was also nominated for Best Feature Film at the Swiss Film Awards in 2024.
Today, Valentina works between Switzerland and France as a director of photography, as well as a second-unit camera operator. She strives to bring sensitivity and a personal point of view tailored to each project. What inspires her most is imagining the visual world that emerges from a script and watching it take shape through collaboration with directors.
